truly a shame that this channel is dead but to anyone who wants to try out ryza DO IT! Ive played this game as my entry title and instantly fell in love with the series Moved on to older titles bit later and felt more engaged by experiencing how much the systems differ from game to game ryza being simple is great to get a feel for atelier itself. and i believe that moving down from that point is best (firis is my favorite)

I 100% agree with your point about character designs being important to games. I learned about the Drakengard franchise after playing Automata. I initially had little interest in trying them, but seeing Zero got me interested. She looked so cool that I decided to look into the franchise a bit more. Eventually played DoD 1 and 3. Totally worth it. (Not interested in DoD 2, sorry.) Zero has the best design in the Yokoverse imo and she has become my favorite female character. I especially lover her Black Flower design in Reincarnation. Sadly that game was gacha no I never bothered with it. On a sidenote I feel like Michael/Mikhail's designs deserve more credit. They honestly look cool af. The perfect fit to be Zero's partner in crime, lol.

Personally, I think A and B make more sense than the rest of the "main" endings. It would be nice to have an ending in which the androids turn hostile to YoRHa not because they learn the truth about the moon colony, but because the reason they haven't used the human genetic map they have (the human server has that plus all other genetic data of Earth life and all human knowledge) is because they thought it was unnecessary. That YoRHa lied would mean YoRHa had kept humanity extinct for millennia when the androids could have restored humanity at any time. I could see that throwing them into quite an intense rage.

In my fic, because I have the Luteces accompany Accord, I found a way to include these two facets of hers. She's pretty much what the "Bioshock" twins are in one body. I think that's the most accurate way to portray her.

I hope I'm not making the Sisters too good in my fic (I know Zero's still the same). I mean, their flaws are all there. It's just, I expanded the "Utahime 5" events, and had the sisters find some of Zero's dark weapons first, resulting in their PTSD from being betrayed by Zero coming out more clearly, forcing them to work on themselves a little before taking over Midgard (Two's idea). It makes sense, no ? At least I wasn't told I was doing anything wrong. They told me it felt natural and plausible. So it must be alright.

I think it has to do with cultural differences first, and tropes second. I gotta say, I don't like the second in both cultures. It really narrows down what can be done with the character in terms of writing and acting. I think she manages to come off as significantly more nuanced than a brick wall in the dub, and I don't know much about the original Japanese VA (Sorry!). But I can't say that she's in any way irritating, shallow, or "cheap". The character who's dressed as a dominatrix does not come off as cheap because of the performance. Her VA is really good.

i think riccardo is kind of a inept cartoonish villain, dude acts so Over the top, so blatant & on The nose i cannot take him Seriously especially the way He dies is so lame & pathetic he lost to a dog & a timid girl Dude reminds me of dr. Bumby Dude does all this evil stuff Yet he easily get killed by a Girl (alice) having a girl power Moment its ridiculous its like They have to make the men Dumb in order to make the Women win at all, its so forced the themes just didnt feel nuanced at all.

I’m so confused…I think it’s the popular practice in Japanese media of using terms that have a very specific meaning in western esotericism but subtly changing the meaning in a way that is popularly understood in Japan. I find it confounding. Still loving it so far though. I can tell this is going to be a special journey in the gaming medium. Thanks for helping with this video. I wished some of the "KH" female cast would be allowed to be almost as flawed as these young women. And that Sora went through struggles similar to Cent (loved his deconstruction of the good hearted fool trope). Ever since this game and "Madoka Magica", I've been feeling like many teenage anime characters, particularly the female cast, are kinda...too clean. Does this make sense ?
